At Lotus Clinical Research, the safety of patients, employees and customers remains our highest priority.

We are in the business of serving our customers and society in clinical research and in the midst of this coronavirus outbreak, it’s important that we give you as much information as possible about the procedures we follow to keep our research site sanitized and maintain a safe environment.

Our teams are in daily contact with affiliated hospitals and healthcare centers to ensure the actions we’re taking are comprehensive and appropriate. Key steps for patient and employee safety include:

All healthcare personnel use an alcohol-based hand rub or wash with soap and water immediately before:
-touching a patient;
-performing an aseptic task (e.g., placing an indwelling device) or handling invasive medical devices;
-moving from work on a soiled body site to a clean body site on the same patient;

and immediately after:
-touching a patient or the patient’s immediate environment;
-contact with blood, body fluids, or contaminated surfaces;
-glove removal;
-and perform hand hygiene with soap and water when hands are visibly soiled.

If a patient reports or has any symptoms of infection (fever, cough, sneezing, shortness of breath or other flu-like symptoms):
-Provide patient with a mask
-Escort patient to private room (if not already in one)
-Do not allow patient to wait in any public area
-Notify the clinical investigator immediately
-If the patient is with family members or friends they should be escorted to a private room until evaluated

Healthcare staff wipe down the nurses station’ and patient areas at the change of night and day shifts. This includes but is not limited to: door handles, patient tables, night stands, remotes, chair handles, and light switches, countertops, keyboards and phones.

While unoccupied patient rooms are cleaned with high-grade disinfectant and multi-purpose cleaner, and closed while not in use.
