Dr. Michael Harrington, MD

Dr. Harrington is a nationally renowned researcher in the field of migraine, migraine mechanism and neurodegenerative disease. He currently studies brain pathophysiology to discover new diagnostic tests and treatment approaches. He attended the Institute of Neurological Sciences at Glasgow where he trained in neurology. His extensive clinical research experience includes fellowships at the National Institute of Mental Health, California Institute of Technology and the Beckman Institute. Lotus has collaborated successfully with Dr. Harrington on multiple occasions and enjoyed a positive long-standing relationship.


Dr. Joel Hutchison, MD

Dr. Hutchison is board-certified in anesthesia and pain management. He completed his Internal Medicine and Anesthesiology Internship at Loma Linda University Medical Center followed by a Pain Management Fellowship at the Center for Pain Management and Research in Loma Linda, CA. Lotus has enjoyed a 10 year working relationship with Dr. Hutchison. He has served as a sub-investigator on a number of Lotus studies and is facile in placing and managing intrathecal catheters for continuous CSF collection. Dr. Hutchison also has an outpatient chronic pain practice that can be accessed to recruit potential subjects for clinical investigations.


Dr. Fardin Hakakian, MD

Dr. Hakakian is board certified in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery by the American Council of Certified Podiatric Physicians and Surgeons. He received his BS from UCLA prior to receiving his MD from the California College of Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Hakakian is a certified Fellow of the American Professional Wound Care Association and a Diplomat of the American Board of Disability Analysts and was formerly Co-Director and Member of the teaching staff of podiatric surgical residence program at Doctor’s Hospital. Dr. Hakakian has worked with Lotus on several studies investigating acute pain following first metatarsal bunionectomy. He is an expert in standardizing surgical procedures so that post-operative pain can be consistent among a general population.


Dr. Shankar Lakshman, MD

Dr. Lakshman is a board certified plastic surgeon with over 10 years of clinical research experience in the area of plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has over 20 scientific publications and presentations to his credit. After graduating Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University where he served as Vice President of the Vanderbilt Pre-Medical Society, Dr. Lakshman attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine where he obtained his Medical Degree and received his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He also attended the University of New Mexico where he received his Fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery. Dr. Lakshman has collaborated with Lotus to design unique perioperative pain models involving aesthetic surgery.


Dr. Asok Doraiswamy, MD

Dr. Doraiswamy is board certified in General Surgery. He completed his Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery from Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He has authored multiple scientific publications and conducted numerous clinical studies with Lotus since 2007. Dr. Doraiswamy is an expert in soft tissue surgical models and has developed surgical techniques that standardize the perioperative pain experience. Lotus has the ability to domicile patients for 48 hours or longer after soft tissue surgeries in order to comply with FDA protocol mandates.


Dr. Todd Dietrick, MD

Dr. Dietrick is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who received his Medical Degree and completed residency training in orthopedics at the University of Southern California School of Medicine. He has been the recipient of numerous scientific awards and has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Dr. Dietrick specializes in adult joint replacement (total knee arthroplasty and total hip arthroplasty). Patients in his surgical practice have participated in several analgesic clinical investigations conducted by Lotus since 2005.


Dr. Joseph Li, MD

Dr. Li is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. After graduating from Loyola University of Los Angeles, he received his Medical Degree from the University of Southern California. Dr Li completed his internship at San Bernardino County Medical Center and completed his residency at Huntington Memorial Hospital through the Los Angeles County University of Southern California Medical Center. Dr. Li is currently a high-risk obstetric consultant for the Pasadena Health Department. Collaborations with Lotus include studies on lactating and non-lactating females, pharmacokinetic studies in laboring patients and perioperative pain studies on patients having open hysterectomy.


Dr. Lawrence W. Jones, MD

Dr. Jones is a board-certified urologist who specializes in urological surgery with over 40 years of clinical research experience. He attended Yale University and UC Berkeley prior to receiving his medical degree from UC San Francisco. Dr. Jones is past president of the California Urological Association, the Western Section of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the American Association of Clinical Urologists (AACU). He has published 45 peer reviewed scientific articles and has been the recipient of numerous awards for laboratory investigation. Lotus has enjoyed a long-standing 10 year relationship with Dr. Jones with multiple successful collaborations utilizing his surgical population.


Dr. Andrew Harris, MD, PhD.

Dr. Andrew Harris is a board certified Radiologist who received his Medical Degree and PhD in BioPhysics from the University of Illinois. He completed his postdoctoral training at Reading Hospital and Medical Center, and completed his Radiology Residency at the University of California San Francisco. Dr. Harris went on to receive his Fellowship in Body and Cardiovascular MRI from New York University. He has been conducting research since 1993 and has numerous scientific publications and clinical research studies to his credit. Lotus has enjoyed a multi-year relationship with Dr. Harris. In general, these collaborations have involved clinical trials in multiple specialties that have an imaging component.
